Man Convicted for Phoenix Park Teenager Murder

Man Convicted For Murder of Teenager in Marivue Park

Parks are great places for families and children, most of the time anyways. Now days, you’re really not safe anywhere. You could be attacked in your own safe home. People are getting desperate and mean. A man has been convicted of killing a teenager in the West Phoenix Park, Marivue Park. The boy defended his younger sister from an armed robbery and he is now scheduled to be sentenced Friday for the murder conviction.

The man Vincent Quimayousie. He is to face life in prison for the first-degree murder conviction for the September 2012 death of  Andrew Murphy. Andrew was sixteen at the time. Andrew was defending his fourteen year old sister at the Marivue Park.

Vincent Quimayousie Convicted for Park Murder

Vincent will also be convicted of attempted armed robbery and misconduct involving a weapon. Police authorities say that young Andrew Murphy was killed after he had stepped in front of Vincent to confront him after he had tried to demand money from Andrew’s younger sister. Vincent was twenty years old.

Vincent Quimayousie did admit to being near the park on the day of the killing in an interview with the police investigators. However, he denied any involvement in the killing.

Hopefully the authorities will be able to find justice for Andrew. Andrew was very brave for protecting his little sister. I’m sure his sister has to live in fear of the once friendly park in her mind to that dark day of losing her heroic brother. I’m sure she will always mourn and remember her brother for his bravery and giving his life to keep her safe. Maybe one day she can get peace, knowing her brothers killer is behind bars.

Phoenix Woman Accused of Abusing Her Son

Woman Accused of Abusing Her Two Year Old Son

When you have a child, most people want to protect them and keep them from harm. How a woman could abuse her own son is beyond me. I can’t understand how anyone would harm a child, let alone your own flesh and blood.

A woman from Phoenix has now been accused of abusing her two year old son. She has pleaded no contest to the child abuse or the sexual misconduct with a minor charge. Seriously? That poor baby. You wouldn’t think a mother could do that to her own son. You usually have to worry about predators outside of the house, not in.

Woman Being Sentenced for Abusing Her Son

The Maricopa County prosecutors say that the mother, Rickesha Jovani Burns, twenty-two years old, has entered her plea on Friday. Burns is set to be sentenced on December Third of this year.

The Phoenix Police were called to the home in March 24, 2013. They found the suspect, Rickesha Burns holding her young son. The police say that the little boy was crying and bleeding. They immediately transported her son to the hospital in Phoenix. Burns told the police that her young son had been playing with a twelve year old little boy at the park that day. She claims the twelve year old had done something to her son.

The doctors said that her son had injuries around his rectal area, he even had to have surgery to remove a foreign object. That literally had me crying writing that. Who would be so sick to do that to anyone, let alone a little baby. I hope they find justice for this poor child.  Phoenix Police say that the didn’t find any evidence that a child had assaulted her son at the park.

Suspicious Man Admits to Having Weapons Near Super Bowl Stadium

Man Admits to Having Weapons Near Super Bowl Stadium

The Phoenix Police say that their most recent encounter with Super Bowl security is a great example of “See Something, Say Something”. Sometimes it saves lives, sometimes it just causes worry. But it’s always better to be safe than sorry. Especially with something as major as a super bow with millions of people.

On Tuesday, around nine o’ clock in the morning, one of the parking attendants told the officers that he saw a suspicious man walking near third Street and Washington. Which just happens to be near where the Super Bowl will be happening this year in Downtown Phoenix.

Police Confront Suspicious Man Near Super Bowl Stadium

Police say that they were quickly able to confront the man. He admitted to the police that he had weapons in his vehicle. When the police looked inside, they found a 12-gauge shotgun that was wrapped in a towel and laying on the dash, a handgun that was between the front seats, and a military type knife in plain view. Sounds like this guy definitley wanted to get caught.

The police say that the man was talking “incoherently” when they found him and that he also appeared to be lost and maybe confused. Due to his behavior the officers took him where he could get a mental health evaluation.

The police impounded the vehicle as well as the weapons and the man’s other belongings for safekeeping. The man has not been arrested at this time, so they are not releasing his name. Even though he was rather close to the stadium, he never got near enough (a 12 block area) of where Super Bowl Central is and that, the Super Bowl area is very secure.

Two Young People Wounded in Officer Involved Shooting

12 Year Old and 18 Year Old Injured in Officer Involved Shooting

According to the local authorities, a twelve year old girl and an eighteen year old young man have both been wounded in an “officer-involved” shooting. The shooting happened at a North Phoenix Home.

The police say that the incident had started on a Tuesday afternoon. This started after the fourteen year old girl called the police. She claimed that she had felt threatened by an eighteen year old young man that she met online. Sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

The police said that the girl had told the officers that the two weren’t together anymore, she got scared after the man had left some gifts for her on the doorstep of her home. The home was near Tatum and Deer Valley Road.

Teens Meet Online And Things Escalate to a Shooting

The police officers had gotten a call saying that there was a man with a gun in the neighborhood. When Police got there, the person with a gun turned out to be the eighteen year old that the girl had called to report just that morning.

When the police got to the scene, they told the man to put the gun down. Being eighteen and sounds a little crazy, he refused. The Police say that the man had started to go into the fourteen year old girls home, that is when the officers had to shoot him.

Some time during the shooting, the man’s gun had went off. It hit the girl’s little sister who is only twelve years old. The twelve year old is luckily in stable condition and is still at the hospital. However, the eighteen year old boy is in pretty serious condition at this time. No officers were injured during the shooting. Police have not released the names of those injured at this time.

Home Grown Pot Plants Numbers Decreasing Due to Pot Dispensaries

Pot Dispensaries Help Lower Home Grown Pot Numbers

2014 was a big year for changes. Same sex marriages became legal in quite a few states and a lot of those states have agreed to legalize marijuana and Republicans are taking over. Everyone has an opinion on these huge changes, some good, some bad, some both. There’s good and bad in everything in my opinion, except marriages…people should marry whoever they want.

Anyways, pot dispensaries’ medical marijuana sales have grown a great bit in Arizona in 2014. The increase that state regulators attribute to fact that very few patients are allowed to grow their own. This is new, and they’re already talking about changes to the marijuana laws.

Marijuana Dispensaries Sales Grow

The State Department of Heath Services has said that the dispensaries has reported more than 1.4 million in sales. Which is equal to ten tons of marijuana, over 55,000 patients in 2014. That’s crazy! Great for those who truly need it though. According to the Health Department, that is up from the 2.7 tons sold in 2013.

According to the department, the 2014 usage would be close to a joint a day per patient. I guess that’s not too bad if you need it. It’d be like your morning thyroid or heart pill, only you smoke this.

Due to Arizona’s marijuana laws, patients who live farther than twenty-five miles from a dispensary are able to grow their own. A lot of people who need the medical marijuana probably can’t just up and drive that far, so it would make things much easier if they could grow their own.

However, with this law, very few patients are allowed to actually grow their own marijuana. Dispensary numbers are growing so that makes it hard to stay out side of that twenty-five mile range. There are now eighty-five dispensaries in Arizona that are operating. It is also recorded that almost 98 percent of the people who need the medical marijuana, usually live within twenty-five miles of the dispensaries.

Twenty-nine year old, Kevin Holsome is the suspected dentition officer. He has been charged with participating in a criminal street gang.
