Police Searching for Circle K Robbery Suspect

Circle K Robbery Suspect Still Not Found

In September, the Circle K store had a scare of a lifetime. Police still haven’t been able to find the robbery suspect. Silent Witness is stepping up their game though. They want to find whoever did this. Silent Witness is offering up to $1,000 for any information that would lead to the arrest of the aggravated robbery suspect.

The news release stated that a man had entered the Circle K store, which is near the 7th Avenue and the Loop 101 just after four o’clock in the morning back in September on the twenty-first.

The robbery suspect then forced the poor, scared clerk as well as a terrified customer to get behind the counter. The two of them were tied up with zip ties (which probably hurt and was very uncomfortable) while the suspect put up the “closed” sign and then zip tied the door. He apparently came armed with zip ties.

The suspect fled the robbed store in a silver 1990 Buick. The vehicle did have another person in it. The suspect took some cartons of cigarettes as well as a coin machine tray from inside the store.

Robbery Suspect Description

The robbery suspect’s description was described as a male who is in his mid forties. He’s around five foot, nine inches tall and weighs around 195 pounds. The man was last seen wearing a red bandanna and has brown hair.  He was also wearing a short-sleeved khaki shirt and light shorts.

If you have any information about the aggravated robbery or the suspect, please call 480-Witness. Don’t forget if you are the one who helps Silent Witness catch this man, you could get a $1,000 reward. So, if you don’t have enough courage to come talk to someone about this on your own, maybe the $1,000 will help you out.

Knife Throwing Man Shot By Phoenix Police Officer

Phoenix Police Officer Shoots a Man Who was Throwing a Knife

On Thursday morning, according to the phoenix police, a man who is a suspect in a knife throwing case is still in critical condition after an officer shot the man.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard with the Phoenix Police department said that the shooting took place close to the 24th Avenue and Union Hills. The police say that a thirty-five year old man had confronted another man who had just gotten to work. The first man started to childishly throw rocks at the other mans car. The suspect finally took it too far and threw a larger rock and damaged the victim’s vehicle. The victim drove away and called the police.

Two officers got to the scene at separate times and started searching for the suspect. One of the officers didn’t have to look hard because he was actually confronted by the suspect. How? The suspect ran up to the police vehicle and started hitting the passenger door as well as the window. The hitting also caused damage to the police car. The policeman says the suspect was screaming “unintelligibly”.

The second officer caught up to the situation and saw the suspect beating on the other officer’s vehicle. The suspect then decided to turn on the new officer and threw a knife at him. The knife ended up shattering the windshield.

Suspect Throws a Knife at Police Officer

Apparently the suspect hadn’t had enough violence for one day so he ran over to the driver’s side door of the officer’s vehicle and then as the officer tried to get out, the suspect raised his hand ready to throw another knife. Having no other choice, the officer shot the man as he started to throw the other knife.

Local Police Bring Presents to Two Stabbing Victims

Phoenix Police Officers Bring Gifts To Two Stabbing Victim Children

Christmas is the time of giving. Although most people forget about the giving and is pretty much more excited about the getting, that’s not true in every case. There are still some great people left in this world and some of them are Phoenix Police officers.

This week some of the most kind Phoenix Police Officers went out of their way to help bring some holiday cheer to two little children who had been attacked by their own mother!

According to a local news report, the mother, Brenda Begay had been arrested on Monday for stabbing both of her children. A twelve year old daughter and thirteen year old son. The children of course had to be hospitalized and cared for after their mother brutally turned on them. They are at the hospital recovering and making friends.

Kindness From Police Officer Bring Stabbing Victims Holiday Cheer

These kind police officers heard about these poor children and that they would be in the care of Child Protective Services as soon as they were released from the hospital. Not only did these poor kids get stabbed but they lost everything due to whatever set their mother off. The officers who were on the call Monday, decided to do something sweet for these children. They all purchased several gifts fro the children and even went to visit them in the hospital on Tuesday. How sweet is that? These officers wanted to give these children a proper Christmas.

The Phoenix Police Department’s Facebook Read:

To say the Phoenix Police officers who responded to the home, to that horror, were profoundly affected by the plight of these children would be a huge understatement. Those officers spent time with the kids and did their best to let them know someone cared, and that they were special, and that they deserved Christmas.

If only everyone had these guys’ great attitude and kindness, the world would be a better place.

Mother Facing Child Charges for Stabbing Her Children

Mother Arrested for Stabbing Both of Her Children

According to the police, a Valley area mother is now going to face child abuse charges after stabbing both of her children. How could anyone do that?

The court documents showed that Brenda Begay had called 911 on Monday. She claimed that both of her kids were dying.  When the police got to the scene at 13th Avenue and Ironwood Drive, what they found was heart breaking. They found a twelve year old girl with a stab wound to her chest.

The Phoenix Police investigators say that the young girl woke up to her mother stabbing her. The little girl then told the officers that she ran to her older, (thirteen year old) brother’s room and found that he was lying on the floor. Police say that Begay’s son also had multiple stab wounds to the chest and on his wrist.

Neighbor, Jesus Gamez, Statement about the Stabbing

Why would a parent do that to their own child? I want to know what her state of mind was during that time.

I doubt you would really want to know what the heck someone was thinking when they murder or attempt to murder someone. Those poor children.

The court documents also show that Begay actually admitted to the police that she had wanted her kids to die. She was “trying to protect them” from getting raped. The documents also suggest that Begay might be in-stable.

This wasn’t Begay’s first run in with the Department of Child Safety. She has prior cases with them, she was convicted in 2005 in a child abuse case. During the trial, the courts questioned Begay’s mental state. They conducted an evaluation and gave her some medication.  Begay has severed six months in jail and fifteen years probation.

Man Accused of Assaulting Police Officer Arrested

Man Who Assaulted An Officer Finally Arrested

Today a man who reportedly assaulted a police officer during a traffic stop in November has finally been arrested in Phoenix.

Deputy U.S. Marshals and Phoenix police officers were able to bring in the suspect, Emeterio Zaragoza Jr. at 35th Avenue and Van Buren Street. According from the press release from the U.S. Marshals, Mr. Zaragoza had been stopped by two Phoenix Police officer for  a traffic violation last month on November 5th.

Police Officer Assaulted During Traffic Stop

During a “records” check on one of the passengers during the stop, the police had found out that the passenger had an outstanding arrest warrant. One of the officers had removed the passenger from the car so that the other officer could question Zaragoza. Mr. Zaragoza then became increasingly irritated then even tried to flee the scene as he was in the vehicle.

The officer then tried to remove Mr. Zaragoza from the vehicle, Zaragoza began to strike the officer with his fist. The officer was dragged a few feet before Zaragoza sped away from the scene. The officer who suffered from the assault, suffered from several of cuts.

Police say that at the time of the incident, Zaragoza was actually serving a term of probation for a weapons misconduct. Probably not the smartest decision to assault an officer then try to flee the scene then. Zaragoza has a criminal history though, which include: arrests for vehicle theft as well as resisting arrest.

After the incident, the Phoenix Police got some help from the U.S. Marshals to help in locating Zaragoza. Luckily on Friday they got the information that Zaragoza was at an apartment complex and the deputies were able to set up surveillance on Zaragoza’s vehicle.

After the vehicle left the apartment complex, the authorities followed the vehicle. He was later caught and booked into jail on charges for aggravated assault of a police officer, probation violation, unlawful flight from law enforcement, failure to appear, and two counts of driving on a suspended license.

Teenage Girl Starts Attacking Police Officer

Teenage Girl Kicks and Punches Officer

Two witnesses came forth and backed the Mesa Police Officer about an account that a fifteen year old girl who was emotionally upset, kicked an officer and then punched the Officer before the officer finally returned the blows as she worked to handcuff the teen.

The teenage girl’s mother was the one to originally called the police for help. She told the police that the officer had punched her daughter without any provoking. A couple who recorded part of the incident aired the video to YouTube to show “police brutality”.

However, the 15 year old teenager admitted to the authorities that she had punched the officer and kicked her in the leg, and that she also refused the officer’s demands to stop. The hits by the officer only happened after the officer had grabbed the teenage girl’s wrist, trying to get her to stop.

Teenage Girl Admits She Provoked The Officer

At least the girl didn’t lie, she admitted in her statement that she was “resisting” the officer’s demands. She kicked the Officer because the Officer was “hurting her”. She even admitted to punching the officer as well as the officer punching her back two times. The teenage girl said that she sometimes gets upset due to her depression. When she gets mad she can’t control what she says or does, according to her.

In the Officer’s written statement, she reported that the girl had told her to “leave me alone” when she had tried to get the teenager to stop walking. The female officer said that the girl then kicked her in the thigh and that is when the officer grabbed her arm. The girl then punched the officer with her free arm in the temple, knocking off the officer’s glasses.

A Mesa Police Spokesman, Detective Steve Flores said that the incident will be investigated. The department wants to make sure that the officer’s level of force was justified. The officer did have a welt on her face from being punched by the teenage girl.
