Phoenix Robbery Incidents

Robbery Suspects Evidence

Three robbers have been caught on camera in a bold hold-up at an office related to a medical marijuana dispensary.

The video is so clear that someone out there has to know who they are.

The victims said it happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday  at an office building in Phoenix.

They work for a medical marijuana dispensary, but that is not where the robbery took place.

The incredible video shows two women and a man storm into the office, with guns drawn.

They ordered the two male victims to the floor, where they proceeded to tie them up.

The robbers demanded money, while holding guns to the victims’ heads, threatening to shoot if they didn’t cooperate.

Robbery Victim’s Statement:

They were telling me, don’t move, they were going to kill me, they were going to cut my fingers off. They were going to come back and kill our families. There was an incident where I believe the trigger was pulled. It might have been on me. I believe it was on my boss. I was face down, I couldn’t tell. But, I know that the trigger was pulled at one point. And, either the gun jammed or it wasn’t loaded. I’m not exactly sure. There was another incident, later on, where the female fires a round into the wall by accident. And, I think that’s what spooked them and the noise made them rush out of there. And, I think that’s what saved our lives.

That victim said the robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, which they stashed in a suitcase.

And, they escaped in a primer-black looking Chevy pickup truck with a red bed liner.

One of the victims managed to break free after the robbers left the room and actually fired several shots at the truck.

A $2,500 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest.

If you recognize the robbers, call the Phoenix Police Department.

Phoenix Homeowner Protects Themselves

When someone breaks into your home, your first instinct is to of course protect your self and your family. One Phoenix homeowner definitely surprised one burglar. This particular homeowner grabbed a sword and used it to injure and then detain a robbery suspect. Pretty awesome or a little bit of an overkill? Personally I think it’s awesome.

The Phoenix Police reported that on back on February 17th two men entered into an apartment near 17th and Buckeye Road. They then assaulted the homeowner. The victim told the police that the two men “ransacked” his apartment and stole several of his items. One of those items was a sixty inch flat screen television. Which aren’t cheap!

Robbery Suspects

When the suspects went outside the homeowner bravely rushed to his bedroom and grabbed a sword. He then went outside so that the two cowardly men couldn’t get away. You go mister!

The Police say that the victim was able to see the suspects loading the tv onto a vehicle. These suspects weren’t at their prime in life, which probably helped the victim, one suspect is sixty-five year old, Larry Shedd. Shedd reportedly came after the victim so he struck Shedd on the head with the sword. However, he was unsuccessful at detaining the other suspect and the driver of the getaway car. Not bad though for someone who just got robbed and ganged up on.

Maybe now, they’ll think twice before jumping people and trying to cowardly rob someone. Doubtful but it’s worth a shot.

Local Robbery Cases in Phoenix

Local Armed Robbery in Phoenix

Police are investigating an armed robbery involving two suspects at a coin business near Tatum and Greenway on Friday.  Officials say the business owner shot one suspect, then held both suspects at gunpoint until officers arrived at the scene.

Authorities say the male suspect was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while a female suspect was detained at the scene.

According to Phoenix police, all suspects involved are in custody with no outstanding suspects.

This is an active investigation. No names have been released in this case.

FBI Search for Phoenix Robbery Suspects

The FBI is trying to find two unrelated bank robbery suspects who have both struck multiple banks in the Phoenix area.

The first robbery, on Jan. 31, was committed by a man who walked into a Chase Bank on Indian School Road near 107th Avenue in Avondale, officials said. The man handed the teller a note demanding money, then made off with an unknown amount of money, the FBI said.

Later that day, the same suspect entered a Chase Bank branch near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road in Phoenix and passed along a similar note. Again, he made off with an unspecified amount of cash, according to the FBI.

The FBI released surveillance camera photos showing the man wearing a black baseball cap, sport sunglasses with dark lenses, and a light colored sweatshirt with red, white and dark colored stripes along the chest and arms.

Female Robbery Suspect

FBI agents are also looking for a woman who robbed two banks in Phoenix on Feb. 10.

The suspect entered the Academy Bank at 15th Avenue and Bethany Home Road in Phoenix and showed the teller a handgun while passing a note demanding money, FBI officials said. The female suspect left with an unknown amount of money.

She then went to the Alaska Federal Credit Union, near 44th Street and Indian School Road in Phoenix, according to the FBI. The lady then handed a note demanding money to a teller and again brandished a firearm before making off with an unknown amount of money.

The FBI released surveillance photos of the woman. She was seen wearing a white, long-sleeved shirt and dark blue jeans, along with a black purse. She carried a black handgun at both robberies.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of either of the suspects is asked to contact the FBI’s Phoenix Field Office at (623) 466-1999, submit tips online at tips.fbi.gov, or contact Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS (480-948-6377).

Teens Shot During Robbery Incident

Police say two teenagers are in critical condition after a man shot them following a reported robbery in north Phoenix.

Phoenix police say two 15-year-old boys walked into a business and stole some items Saturday night.

As they walked away from the business, police say an unidentified man confronted the teens in the parking lot about the stolen items and the boys began to attack him.

The man then shot the two boys.

Police haven’t released the shooter’s name, but say he isn’t an employee at the business.

They say the unidentified boys suffered injuries that aren’t life-threatening.

Suspects Arrested In bank Robbery Case

Two suspects are in police custody following a bank robbery in north Phoenix Tuesday morning.

According to Phoenix police, at 11:30 a.m. officers responded to a report of a bank robbery in the area of Tatum Boulevard and Greenway Road.

Officers in the area located the suspect’s vehicle fleeing southbound from the scene.

An air unit followed the suspect’s vehicle near 7th Street and Thunderbird Road where the driver was taken into custody, according to police.

Police said the passenger fled on foot but was located and detained without incident.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

The FBI’s Bank Robbery Task Force is investigating, police said.

Police Arrest Four People Connected in Robbery Case

Phoenix police detained four people on Tuesday after a drawn-out and dangerous cross-Valley chase where one suspect fled into a neighborhood and another car-jacked a woman and sped into Phoenix, narrowly avoiding pedestrians at the onset of rush-hour.

Officers had been searching for the Audi sedan involved in the Tuesday chase “for several weeks” after it had been taken in an armed robbery and then used for a separate commercial burglary, Phoenix police said.

Police spotted the car Tuesday afternoon near 2400 E. Indian School Road, at which point the driver and three occupants traveled into the West Valley before returning east toward Phoenix more than an hour later.

News station video feeds showed the sedan navigating surface streets near Litchfield Road and Van Buren Street about 2:45 p.m.

Robbery Chase

At times, the vehicle made U-turns, cut through parking lots and sped through traffic in the middle lane. About 2:50 p.m., a person in the vehicle jumped out and fled into a residential area in Avondale.

That person was possibly armed with a long gun and remained at large until about 5:30 p.m., when police confirmed he had been located and arrested without further incident.

The driver, though, continued driving on residential and busy city streets with the other two occupants, weaving in and out of traffic.

According to reports, the driver finally stopped his vehicle and approached a woman who was in a white truck. He then forced her out of the vehicle and then fled the scene.

Suspects Flee

Police said that there were two other people from the abandoned Audi. They were detained at the scene.

The man who took the truck smashed through the intersection, drove on the median, and picked up speed onto a Valley freeway, heading east on Interstate 10 toward Phoenix.

The driver exited onto 35th Avenue and sped through residential areas as pedestrians walked on sidewalks and crossed streets before turning around and heading north.

He turned east on McDowell Road by the Arizona State Fairgrounds and continued through central Phoenix. At 3:30 p.m., roughly an hour after the chase began, the vehicle was near the light-rail station at 19th Avenue and Camelback Road as rush-hour traffic intensified.

Pedestrian Endangered

At several points, the truck came close to pedestrians and the driver could be seen stopping at a crosswalk with several people passing in front.

The driver repeatedly stopped the truck, sped backwards on residential streets, and, at about 3:40 p.m., parked near the Monte Vista apartments in the area of Peoria and 19th avenues. He then ran into a residence.

Authorities swarmed the entryway and arrested the suspect at about 3:40 p.m.

Police did not immediately provide the names of the suspects, saying additional information would be expected Wednesday morning. Investigators also said the suspects were believed to have been the same suspects from the initial robbery.

No officers, pedestrians or motorists reported any injuries from the incident.

Armed Robbery in Phoenix

Phoenix Armed Robbery Suspect Caught

Phoenix always suffers with criminal activity due to its proximity to the border. It seems like there’s never a lack in shootings, stabbings, or armed robberies in the area.

Now citizens are being thanked for their major part in capturing a man that was involved in the armed robbery of a Phoenix cell phone store. According to the Phoenix Police report, on January 8th there were three men with masks who entered into a cell phone store which was located near 32nd Street and Thomas Road.

One of the men was armed with a handgun and the other had a can of pepper spray. Kind of an odd choice of weapon, but whatever works for them.

Police say that the suspect pepper sprayed five people with the pepper spray inside of the store, one of those were customers. Two of the employees were pistol-whipped as they were ordered to open the safe.

According to the reports, another victim was reportedly bitten by a suspect. The trio allegedly stole a backpack with a computer inside and filled it with money. According to the reports they got around $1,000 and some cell phones. Sounds like it wasn’t worth the trouble.

Police Chase Robbery Suspect

A GPS tracker was activated after the men left and the police tracked the suspects to the 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road. The men ran from the car and then split up.

One of the suspects, twenty-four year old, Vinchar Vincient Lemuel reportedly tried to break into several nearby apartments. Citizens at the complex were able to capture Lemuel and hold him for the police. Talk about a lucky situation for the police. The backpack was found nearby with the money still inside of the backpack.

Lemuel has been charged with armed robbery.

Knife Armed Robbery in Phoenix

Robbing a business with a knife wouldn’t be a smart thing unless you immediately get a hostage, however you never know. Recently a man walked into a 7-Eleven at 43rd Avenue and McDowell Road with a VERY big knife to rob the place. This happened on December 17th at 6 p.m.

From the surveillance video you can see the suspect making his way through the store and straight to the cashier. This is when he brandished the butcher knife, threatening the clerk to cut them if he didn’t get cash. The suspect then put down the knife and counted through the cash before strolling out the door.

The police say that the suspect is described as a white man around 30-40 years old. He’s around 5 foot 10 inches tall and is heavy set with a beard. Police are asking that if you have any information about this incident or the man then please call Silent Witness. They really want this guy behind bars for this armed robbery.

Search For Armed Robbery Suspect

Another day, another robbery at good ol’ Phoenix. This time an unidentified man is at large after he robbed and sadly shot a man late Friday in Phoenix.

Police were called to the scene around ten o’clock that night due to reports of shots being fired in the area of 4700 North 17th Avenue in Phoenix. According to Detective Marianne Ramirez this is near the intersection of West Highland Avenue.

The local witnesses told the police that they had seen a man confront another man.

Ramirez Statement:

The victim was robbed and then shot by the suspect.

The victim was treated then transported to the local hospital for his luckily non life threatening gunshot wound. The shooter of course fled the area and is now at large. Police do not have a description of the suspect at this time.

Police are asking that if you have any information about this armed robbery then please contact the Phoenix Police Department or Silent Witness.

Home Invasion Robberies Near Phoenix

Robberies: Phoenix Home Invasion

Robberies happen quite often in Phoenix. However, a home invasion has to be terrifying no matter how common they might be in your area.

According to the police, a resident of a west Phoenix home shot and injured at least one man during a robbery during an early Monday morning incident. Talk about a crappy way to start your week.

Sgt. Trent Trump who is a spokesman with the Phoenix Police said that two or three armed men had broken into a home. The home was located near 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. The robbery happened in the early morning around 3:3o.

Sgt. Crump said that the home’s armed home owner confronted and fired at the robbers when they forced entry into his home. One of the men sustained non life threatening injuries. Maybe that will teach them to break into people’s homes.

The men of course fled the scene after that. The investigators said that they think that the man who was being treated at the local hospital for a gunshot wound was involved in the robbery.

The other men involved are still at large.

Robberies in Phoenix

Federal agents are working with the Phoenix police to try to calm down the onset of home invasion robberies that’s been on the rise in Phoenix lately. They have arrested around 70 people since May and had several operations of several groups of behind the crimes.

According to the police the home invasion robberies and kidnappings are tied to smuggling of drugs as well as people across the Mexican border. This happens a lot in Phoenix due to it being so close to the border.

The officials with the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives said that a unit of federal agents have been working with the Phoenix detectives in hopes to break the robbery stings. Most of these have included attackers that have been dressed in dark uniforms and masks which mimics police tactical units.

According to reports, the investigation is called “Operation Gideon”. They use stings as well as other “means” to stop the crews. They charge them with firearms possession and other crimes before they carried out robberies.

According to the reports they included: the seizure of several firearms, ballistic vests, plastic restraints, duct tape, gloves and ski masks, as well as several thousand dollars in cash.

The people who are arrested will face federal firearms, drug trafficking, as well as other charges.

Mayor Phil Gordon’s Statement:

The results are stunning, and meaningful. These people really are the worst of the worst. And now they’re off the streets.

It’s pretty amazing that the detectives and local police are working so well to get things done and making such great progress in such little time. I’m sure the city of Phoenix really feels so much better about this.

However, it’s still pretty unclear how much of an impact the sweep has had. Last month, Police Chief, Jack Harris said that the kidnappings and home invasion robberies have continued without any “significant decrease”. So that’s not the best news. However, if the authorities keep at it hopefully the criminals will see that Phoenix isn’t a place to mess with and they will get caught.

Chief Harris says that in addition to the seventy arrests the federal-state team has made more than 300 arrests since it was created last September which is pretty amazing. The number’s are sure to keep rising.

According to Federal Statistics violent crime in Phoenix is actually down overall. However, police are still alarmed at the home invasion robberies and abductions lately. The victims have been as young as thirteen years old. The victims are even being held for a drug debt or being smuggled across the border. That would be a pretty scary situation for the victim.

Phoenix Police Involved In Robbery Investigations

Phoenix Police Respond to Bank Robbery

The Phoenix police stay pretty busy. Let’s be honest, any police station stays pretty busy now days, but especially those closer to borders or cities.

Recently, the Phoenix Police Department as well as the FBI investigated a bank robbery. This was at 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Must be pretty serious to have the FBI to get involved.

According to a spokesperson for the Phoenix Police, a man had walked into Chase bank around eleven o’clock in the morning. He then passed a note to an employee.

The bank quickly went into a security lock down mode. There were twenty people who were trapped inside. Luckily, according to the reports the suspect remained calm and didn’t have a weapon on him. If the suspect had been hyper and crazy things could have been a lot worse.

The suspect was quickly taken into custody, without anyone being harmed.

Authorities Arrest Robbery Suspect

Of course a robbery doesn’t just have to happen at a bank, it can happen at a home as well. Police have recently arrested a suspect who was accused of shooting at officers on a Sunday morning. Talk about a crappy day to start shooting a people.

The Phoenix Police Department arrested, twenty-three year old, Derek Johnson after he opened fire on the responding officers. They were responding to a call near the Interstate 17 between Camelback and Indian School roads. Thanks to local tips that were shared with police led to the man’s location. Unfortunately that was at a home near 23rd and Northern Avenues on Thursday, July 6th.

According to reports, the suspect has an outstanding warrant against him and the police were able to find him and take him into custody.

To continue on with that story, on July 2nd at 4 a.m. police officers responded to an unknown trouble call near 27th Avenue and Camelback Road. The caller told 911 that the suspects were armed with handguns. Must have been a very situation for the 911 caller.

When the officers got to the area of the call they activated the blue lights as well as the police spotlight in the direction of a man that was walking eastbound on West Hazelwood Street.

According to the authorities, Johnson stopped and at first placed his hands up before he turned away from the officers. He then pulled out a pistol and started firing a round at the officers as he turned back turned back towards them.

Police Search for Suspect

The round of the bullets struck the center part of the patrol vehicle’s windshield. The officers then got out of their patrol car. As they got out of their car they left it in drive and it rolled and then crashed into the fence.

According to the reports Johnson was last seen running on the North Black Canyon Access Road. He was not found that morning. He was booked on two charges of attempted first degree murder and one charge armed robbery.

Apparently, this isn’t Johnson’s first run in with the police. He had a previous run in with the police and it was for robbery as well. He as well as three other people held a clerk at gunpoint and took merchandise with them from a business.

Several Robberies in Phoenix

Man Arrested for Multiple Robberies in Phoenix

Robberies in Phoenix seem to be a seemingly odd occurrence in Phoenix. Of course, robberies can happen anywhere.

Police are searching for a man that was seen in a surveillance video of a robbery in May 13th. The robbery was of a Metro PCS store which was in Phoenix.

According to a Silent Witness’ statement, the man walked into the store just before 9:30 in the morning. The store was located at 32nd Street and Greenway Road. The man then proceeded to pull out a gun and escorted two employees into the back room. Must have been an extremely scary situation for the two employees.

Sgt. James Rothschild’s Statement About the Robbery:

He doesn’t just steal the money and leave right afterwards.

According to reports, the man actually lingered in the business. He then placed the gun to the head of one of the victims. The suspect then ordered the employees to crawl on their hands and knees to the back of the building before he ran out the front door.

Police got reports that the man was last seen running south from the PCS store.

The male’s description is described as a Hispanic male. He is estimated at 5 ft 11 inches tall at around 160 pounds. The man reportedly had acne on his face as well as a ponytail. At the time he was wearing a hooded sweatshirt.

Police are asking that if anyone has any information about this robbery then please call the local police or Silent Witness at (480) WITNESS. There are rewards being offered for any information that could help in his arrest.

Phoenix Police Investigate Truck Robbery

Phoenix police have been extremely busy with robberies in the area. The Phoenix police are saying that a street vendor who was selling food from a cart was scarily gunned down. They think that this was an attempted robbery situation.

Eladio Arrendando-Estrad is a fifty-nine year old and was sadly fatally shot on Tuesday night. This was as he helplessly ran from two suspects who confronted him in a parking lot.

Sgt. Alan Pfohl said that one of the suspects fired at least one shot into the ground in front of the victims bicycle. Then when the victim turned to run the suspect shot him.

Police are asking for any public information about the case. The shooting happened near East Bell Road and North 26th Street.

So please, help bring Estrad’s murderer’s to justice!

According to the FBI the woman suspect walked into the branch which is located in a Fry’s Grocery store close to 83rd Avenue and Lower Buckey Road.

Reports said that the woman gave the teller a “demand note” telling them that she was armed with a gun. The teller did as she was told and gave the woman the money. However, no weapon was ever seen according to the police.
